Free, honest advice & second opinions
This might be the most unusual page on any electrician's website: we want to tell you how to not overpay, even if that means we do less work. Here's why, and how our free advice actually works.
Why we give advice away for free
The residential electrical world runs on confusion. Most homeowners can't see or understand their electrical system, so they can't tell a fair quote from a wildly inflated one. Some contractors count on that. We'd rather build a business on the opposite: be the people who explain things honestly, and earn the work by being trusted, not by keeping you in the dark.
A real example
A homeowner was told he needed a $12,000 electrical service upgrade just to install an EV charger. Twelve thousand dollars. Before he spent it, he asked us. The honest answer: on his setup, a smart load balancer would let him charge overnight safely on his existing service, for a small fraction of that cost. He kept the $12,000. That's roughly the price of a decent used car, saved by one honest conversation.
The kinds of questions we're happy to answer
Is this quote I got reasonable? Do I really need the upgrade they're recommending? What's the simplest way to accomplish what I want? Is this problem urgent or can it wait? Is my older wiring or panel something to worry about? You don't need to be a customer to ask. A quick, honest answer costs us nothing and might save you thousands.
When you do need the bigger job, we'll say that too
Honesty cuts both ways. If your fuse panel is a genuine fire and insurance risk, or your service really is maxed out, we'll tell you plainly and explain exactly why, with no scare tactics. The whole point is that you can trust what we say because we're just as willing to tell you when you don't need to spend money.
Got an electrical question or a quote you're unsure about? Send it over, genuinely no pressure and no cost.
